The Bendigo Health Foundation will host a twilight fair on Friday night at Dai Gum San to raise funds for the Bendigo Hospital Christmas Appeal.
The Christmas appeal is aiming to raise $200,000 for Bendigo Health’s Special Care Baby Unit to provide new equipment and improved facilities for the hospital’s smallest patients.
The twilight fair will run from 5pm to 9pm and will feature stalls, food, Bendigo Chinese Association night dragon, plum blossom dancers, Santa photos, fun workshops and crafts for the whole family.
For those looking to host a stall, it’s not too late. A limited number of sites are still available for $25 with site fees going towards the Bendigo Hospital Christmas Appeal.
Bendigo Health Foundation director Gloria Turner said with the cancellation of last Friday night’s lighting of the Downtown Bendigo Christmas Tree they’re looking to recoup lost funds and raise as much as possible for the Christmas appeal.
"The twilight fair will be a great evening for the whole family so we encourage everyone to come down to the Chinese Precinct and get into the Christmas spirit," said Ms Turner.
"We still need volunteers to help out on the night so if you can spare a couple of hours your help would be greatly appreciated," added Ms Turner.
Other upcoming events to support the Bendigo Hospital Christmas Appeal include the children’s market on Saturday 11 December at Bendigo District RSL from 9am – 3pm and the Christmas lights bus tours in the week before Christmas.
